Sunsets, Sunshine & September Holiday Week-end - Saturday 24 - Sunday 25/9/11

Over the past few days, the hot weather has returned and we are enjoying lovely 26 degree heat at the moment with amazing sunsets. Great news for the September week-end break - we are still working to UK holidays!
On Saturday, after watching the early Rugby matches on telly, we headed to But in Digoin for a floor lamp for the salon, to finish it off, this has been the most difficult room for us to complete, and it has taken us a lot of time to get it just the way we wanted. A huge thank you to Jean Michel Rault for leaving the french display unit for us, we love it so much.
We then soaked up the sunshine and enjoyed the pool before heading out for a couple of beers at the fair as it was the last night of the Fete Foraine. We had great fun with shooting balloons again, with the 2 of us getting a total of 12 balloons out of 15 each, winning a very bright Pirate and equally jazzy Reggae man. Jim then managed to grab an Angry Bird eventually (yipee!) using his crane skills, so that makes 2 Angry Birds now in the Stewart family, poor Jim!
On Sunday morning, we cheered Scotland on and on and on, then cried, then cheered, then were completely gutted as they lost 13-12 to Argentina at Rugby, what a match, what a shame. Hey-ho, we can always beat the English next week.......bring it on!
We then headed to the Vide Grenier (car boot style sale) in Gueugnon and spent a few hours there, buying a beautiful smoked glass decanter and 8 little glasses, a bargain at 8 euros and a clock for the salon at 5 euros.
The rest of Sunday was relaxing by the pool with great fun swimming and playing volleyball.
