Well, it is a busy week-end for festivals, and on Sunday, after watching some early Rugby World Cup matches (well done to Ireland!), we headed to La Fete Medievale in Chassy, a small village about 2 miles from us. The village was decked out in Medieval style with Archery to try - again Jim was a good shot at this, he got many bullseyes!, a themed market selling arts and crafts and local produce and I tried a 'potion' from the Hypocras to try and cure my cold (tasted rather like mulled wine to me!). There were authentic horse and cart rides, jousters on horses and everyone seemed to have a lovely time, mingling with the witches and wizards. Jim threatened to leave me in the stocks to go to the toilet......but he knew better!
We also visited the beautiful little church - l'eglise St. Pierre-es-liens built in the 12th century and the backdrop of the castle in Chassy, made the day out very special indeed.
