Nos premiers visiteurs français

It was an absolute delight today to welcome Jean Michel, his wife Isabel, his Uncle Louis (our gardener) and his wife Josette, for drinks and snacks in the garden. Jean Michel and Isabel brought some beautiful flowers chosen specifically for our red kitchen - what a lovely thought. As you can see, they match the flowers on the wallpaper perfectly. Louis and Josette brought some lovely pink champagne too, another very kind and lovely gesture.
The weather was wonderfully hot (a bit too hot of the truth be told for us Scottish whities) and after showing them around the house, we chatted for over an hour in the Garden over some cool beers, wine (some French people seem to like having 2 glasses of wine at one time......Louis - mentioning no names!)and some appetizers. Jean Michel said that he was very happy to see the house 'live' again, and we are both pleased that he liked what changes we had made.
Tomorrow we have more french visitors (Alain, Marie Claude and Audrey Chaussin) coming around 5pm for a couple of hours and we found out today that Alain was a very famous and top class footballer in his younger years and almost took the local football team of Gueugnon into the premier league! Wow, that is amazing, we hope Jean Michel sends us his picture and we will feature it on the blog. That gives us something to talk about tomorrow, in french, if we can muddle through, although Marie Claude has good english as well as her daughter, so they can translate to Alain.
