Cowboys on the Beach, Andora - Sunday 8th March, 2009

Well, today the weather stayed nice for the horse event here in Andora and there was quite a crowd here at the Marina, for it.

There were displays with mountain rescue dogs as well as the main event on the beach. There were 14 horses and riders all competing on a course that involved going around poles and oil drums as quickly as possible. Lots of the riders were dressed in cowboy suits and hats and the horses were turned out well. There were even a couple of municipal police horses taking part.

It was also quite windy today and there were about a dozen kite surfers out on the sea, which looked a lot of fun.

The weather forecast for the next few days is for good sunshine, with calm (ish) conditions in the mornings and the wind picking up as usual in the afternoons, so provided it is accurate, we should be heading off tomorrow morning to Savona, 25 miles from here, where we have booked a berth until Thursday.

We have enjoyed our time here in Andora, it has been a lovely stop, and we eventually found somewhere selling an Italian/English Dictionary, which is making life a bit easier for us!
