Carnival Week-end Cavalaire Sur Mer - Friday 13th-Sunday 15th February, 2009

The high winds disappeared and the sun thankfully shone for the Carnival Week-end here in Cavalaire Sur Mer.
A lot of the Restaurants and Bars that were closed for the winter, re-opened and on Friday evening, we went for a lovely Chinese meal and then we had Cocktails in La Rhumerie bar. The bar is absolutely gorgeous, decorated Caribbean style, with fabulous brown leather and suede couches, chairs and pouffes, varnished ‘tree’ tables, voile & suede curtains and a thatched hut styled roof with bamboo - and the toilets made you feel as though you were inside a stone cave! The Cocktails were brilliant, well made, well decorated and well worth the average price of 13€ each!
Saturday and Sunday, we spent at the Funfair, watching the Rugby over both days, and relaxing in a café watching the procession of fabulously decorated floats, stilt walkers and bands. It was lovely to see everyone get into the Carnival atmosphere, with families lining the streets and throwing confetti everywhere.
The local Jet Ski club also had an outing on Sunday, and they had a perfect day for it too - we just managed to catch them on camera after our cycle ride in the morning, as they left the marina.
Tomorrow, we say Au Revoir to Cavalaire Sur Mer, as we take advantage of the calmer weather conditions and head to St. Tropez for a few nights.
