Port Camargue is a lovely marina, home to nearly 4800 boats, with excellent facilities, including first class showers, and it is set within beautiful complexes of holiday flats and hotels, right on the sea front.
There is a great cycle path which runs alongside the beach towards Le Grau du Roi, a beautiful little fishing village 20 minutes away. There are lovely eateries here dotted along the River, many of which serve fresh seafood literally delivered to their doorstep from the local fishing boats. There is also a local market on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings selling local produce and clothing.
We visited the SeaQuarium on the sea front with its fabulous Sharks, Turtles and Tropical Fish, as well as Sealions and Seals that entertained us outdoors. Jim was thankful that he found someone else to talk to - see picture!
The weather has been lovely since we got here, with the wind picking up a bit mid-week, as expected, but the clear blue skies and winter sunshine make our days just perfect for cycling and exploring.
We are happy to stay here a bit longer and will head further East, likely stopping at Marseille next, in a few days time, as usual, weather permitting.
