What a fabulous place Montpellier is, so pretty, festive and bustling with people. The atmosphere is terrific. We are so glad we came here for the week-end ahead of going to the airport, as it would have been such a shame to miss this place, not to mention sleeping in a decent hotel bed for 2nights - luxury!
We enjoyed the beautiful Christmas Market with little individual stalls selling everything from Chocolate Chaud avec Amaretto/Rum (yummy!) to Brochettes d‘Escargots avec Riz (also very yummy!).
We also took the little train from the centre, around Montpellier, 40 minutes with commentary, and it proved to be a great way to see things and learn a bit about the town, as we only have a short time here. The streets are very narrow and mainly cobbled, making Montpellier very quaint indeed.
The weather has been smashing with the days being sunny, cold and crisp, similar to an early Autumn day in Scotland.
We are both looking forward very much to spending just over 3 weeks back at home, seeing our relatives and friends again and then it will be back to France to move on once we get a window in the weather.
