Au Revoir St. Thibault (Sancerre), Bonjour Marseilles Les Aubigny, Canal Lateral a la Loire - Tuesday 5th August 2008

As il pleut beaucoup yesterday, we stayed another day in St. Thibault, as we didn’t fancy travelling and getting soaked! So, we relaxed with our books, tucked up inside GG, for the day.
We left this morning at 9.30am in glorious sunshine, and Jim stripped off to make the most of it! and we headed SSE towards Nevers. We stopped for lunch in Herry at 12 noon and cycled into town for a beer after our lunch on board. We were considering stopping here overnight, but there was no electricity or much in the town, so we pressed ahead.
We did 8 locks in total, and met a lovely dog at one of them, who we fed Digestive Biscuits to - and arrived at Marseilles Les Aubigny at 4.30pm - a lovely little village with pontoons and good facilities. The village is absolutely immaculate with a bar, a grocery store and a church and some houses, that's it!
We covered 19.88nm today, travelling at 5 knots and Marseilles Les Aubigny is 47’04’.022N 003’00’.885E.
We will stay here a day or two and then head for Nevers.
