Au Revoir Nemours, Bonjour Cepoy, Canal De Loing - Saturday 19th July 2008

After showers and breakfast aboard, we left Nemours at 10am, heading for Cepoy which is 15 nautical miles away.
The weather was a bit overcast to start and then it cleared to reveal a beautiful, warm, sunny day, with quite a bit of wind.
Again, we travelled at 4 knots, through 10 locks, reaching Cepoy at 5pm, with both of us a bit frazzled by the sun! The wind hindered us a bit through the locks, due to it gusting when we came to the top, making GG difficult to control......but Captain Jim did well keeping her steady.
The Canal scenery is breathtaking, just like the books, with lovely little houses dotted alongside and their occupants wishing you well, waving to you from their windows saying Bonjour!

Some of the bridges are a bit too close for comfort on the fly bridge and some quick ducking was in order!
The stopping place at Cepoy had no bollards to tie up to, so we used our new metal stakes to moor to the side of the bank. There is water and free electricity here too, so an ideal overnight stop and a freebie!
We cycled to Cepoy to pick up some top up provisions and had a couple of drinks in the bar beside the next lock.
Cepoy is 48’02’.085N 002’44’.061E.
