Day 12-13 Kuala Lumpur - Singapore Thursday 22/11-Friday 23/11/12

Our arrival in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday was welcomed with some rain! and a delayed ship clearance to go ashore, putting the tours all under pressure. We headed on our full day trip about 10.30am with thousands of other guests still waiting and getting really angry. The trip took in the highlights of KL, we saw the Twin Towers, the KL Tower where we took the elevator to the top for spectacular views of the city, Independence Square, lunch in a traditional Malaysian restaurant, a market and a museum - so much to pack into the short time ashore. KL is a city of skyscrapers and really beautiful. The rain didn't spoil our sightseeing as we had our Jack in a Packs with us - clever us. After a busy day ashore, we headed back to the ship which was supposed to sail at 6pm.......we got there eventually on board at 7.30pm with another 2 buses arriving by police escort at 8pm! The ship eventually left at 8.30pm, heading for our last port of call on Friday, Singapore. We arrived on time despite leaving late at 7am on Friday morning into glorious Singapore and some more rain. Despite being wet, it was still very humid at 34 degrees. We cleared customs and were collected at 9.30am by taxi, saying goodbye to our lovely ship and new found friends. After checking into our hotel in Singapore, we headed out onto the hop on hop off bus tour, taking in the sights, and some shopping. We had dinner in the hotel as the monsoon had started again.......and then went to the Singapore Flyer (similar to the London eye) for a night view of Singapore. James waited downstairs in the bar as his scare of heights took over or maybe he just wanted a beer or 2! Magical. Early bed as we were being collected next morning at 7am for our flight from Singapore to Glasgow via Dubai. A wonderful end to a fantastic holiday. SAME AGAIN PLEASE!
