James disappeared this afternoon to make an appointment to have his bloods done at the clinic and he was away for hours, and I was getting rather worried.
Next minute, he drives up - "I've got you a pressie", he says. Excitedly, I ran downstairs to meet him. You will never believe what he bought, an air rifle, 100 targets, pellets and a metal pop up target 'rat' for the garden! WOW
So, after the week-end's enjoyable shooting experience with the rifles at the fun fair, we now have our own rifle to shoot the chickens next door, Socrat the dog, Jean Luc's cows and Louis if he doesn't behave......just joking!
We pinned a target each to the tree in the garden and had 5 shots each. I scored 23 points out of 50 and James scored 34. We then had another 5 shots each at the rat and I hit it twice and James three times.
After going back inside the house, I said to James, "did you not think twice about buying your wife a gun"? By the look on his face, I don't think the thought even crossed his mind! Just as well he trusts me.....
