Baye, Day 4 - Tuesday 14/8/12

After a good night's sleep - I was a bit sick during the night and I put that down to the bloody french liquer! - we breakfasted aboard and then James went to see Michel. He has a flat battery on his crane, so will need to charge it and see how it goes for the afternoon possible lift out. Patience....... At 11am a butcher van arrived and we bought some lovely cooked roast beef, sausages, some prepared salads and yoghurts and 25€!! lighter, we headed back to the boat. Lovely lunch aboard with the roast beef, picalili and a bit of the two salads, with plenty left for tomorrow. HARICOT boat with Tony and Lindsay arrived and we talked them into coming along to the 'bal' in the marquee that evening which consisted of a band, dinner and dancing. Needless to say, the boat lift out didn't happen, batteries were not charged still, maybe tomorrow! - Patience......... We headed over to the marquee at 8pm and had lovely champagne aperitifs then the band started and everyone danced. The meal was very late and extremely basic and I am glad we went for the roast pork and not the deep fried whitebait! It was a great night dancing and the band was very good. The french really know how to enjoy themselves. We headed back to the boat at midnight, our latest night out in France ever!
