Lazy Saturday afternoon - Saturday 31/3/12

Today, has been the hottest day this year so far and the week leading up to it has been lovely too.
We seized the opportunity to relax in the garden and use our new BBQ. Unfortunately, the pool is still not warm enough for a swim, it is still only at 19 degrees water temperature, so a bit nippy at the moment for a dip!
We spent most of the day chilling out, munching on some indian pork chops, sausages & salady stuff, playing table tennis and stuffing our new best friend Socrat full of doggy snacks.
Socrat is our neighbour Jean Francois's old dog and it plods around his garden all day, from early morning until early evening. He arrives at our adjoining gate and gives a very loud 'woof woof' when he wants his treats. Socrat may be a bit blind and deaf, but not daft!
Later in the day, we noticed the blue tit family that feeds from our nuts and balls on the balcony, disappearing down one of the poles that supports our wind breaker, then we realised that they are building a nest in there. It was fascinating to watch the 2 of them flying back and forward and down the pole with freshly cut grass from our compost heap. How wonderful! We look forward to welcoming the baby blue tits when they are ready!
