Rigny Sur Arroux - Sunday 15/1/12

After a very busy week in Glasgow at the office, it was nice to get back on the plane on Friday and chill out a bit.
The weather in France is much the same as Scotland at the moment, cold, crisp mornings with clear blue skies, but once the frost burns off, it is beautiful.
We headed out today to Rigny Sur Arroux, by bike. I am so glad we wrapped ourselves up as although it looked warm, the wind was icy cold.
Rigny Sur Arroux is a beautiful little village 6 miles away, along a relatively flat road, and it was a lovely ride through the countryside. It is a tiny place with a Boulangerie, Church, Restaurant and Bar, and a lovely little stream running through it, to the river.
On the way back, after our smoked pork sausage and yoghurt picnic... I had multiple stops as I was absolutely knackered, with the wind in your face not taking any prisoners, it was tough going even though it was flat. Jim seemed to cope much better and made it back to the van about 5mins before me!
All I can say is, thank god we parked the van at the supermarket car park, as the thought of cycling to the house, up the bloody steep hill, would have killed me!
Well, you know what they say, no pain, no gain!
