Choux, Tomates, Poivrons et Fraises!

After a very wet, busy week working, visiting and some nights out back in Glasgow, it was nice to head back home to France again and 32 degrees of heat! The planes, trains and automobiles trip home all went according to schedule and I arrived back last night with all my baggage intact! to the delights of a frozen ham, tomato, mushroom and olive very delicious pizza for dinner in front of the telly and a catch up with Jim. Oh, it is nice to be home, I have been away from the house for nearly a month and have missed it and Jim very much.
It never fails to amaze me how our garden just yields and yields so much and this morning I picked lovely strawberries, a huge cabbage, some tomatoes that had survived the hailstones as well as green peppers. A huge thank you once again to Louis for looking after all our vegetables. Louis has now also planted some more lettuce which are coming along nicely and more green beans.
We will be having the strawberries for tonight's dessert with rum and raisin ice cream and the salady stuff will go well with the huge langoustines I bought this morning for tonight's dinner, along with some sauteed crispy potatoes. Job done!
The cabbage has been all prepared for tomorrow night and I will pan fry it with some pancetta and a little touch of cream to go along with some duck breasts.
With this in mind, now off to the pool to work off the calories before they go on - and it gets me out of sitting watching the Grand Prix with Jim!
