We headed off at 10.30am this morning with glorious clear blue skies and no wind, a dream start to our week on the boat.
We headed South on the River Saone at 6 knots towards Tournus. We arrived at Ormes lock at 12.45 and locked through with another 4 boats and then on our way again, arriving at Tournus at 1.35pm, travelling a total of 30km.
There was plenty of room on the pontoon and we tied up, plugged in our electrics, and headed for lunch on the quay of Croque Monsieur and fries, and then walked into the centre of the town. We remembered Tournus well from our travels in 2008.
After our usual siesta, we changed and headed out for dinner in a little restaurant close to the Mairie and had a delicious dinner of Pizza (Irene) and Red Mullet followed by delicious ice cream desserts and chatted to an Irish couple who had recently retired and were touring in their camper van all over France.
After dinner, we headed back to Ginger Grouse II for a DVD and drinks and bed.
