Un bon week-end

This week-end we have been spoiled with the weather, thank goodness we are back to some hot sunshine and clear blue skies.
Friday night we were invited to Marie-Claude and Alain Chaussy's house for drinks. Marie-Claude was the lovely lady who visited me not long after we had moved in and brought a huge bag of cherries to welcome us. We had some drinks and nibbles on their patio in the sunshine, and their daughter Audrey and grandson James were there too. Audrey teaches french in the south of England and was on holiday at her mum and dad's. It was good to be able to have a conversation with mixed french and english! After drinks, Jim & I headed off to the usual Friday night chinese buffet, which was brill. We have invited them all to ours on 12th August, and look forward to seeing them all again.
Saturday, after some shopping, we relaxed in the pool, with some pool volleyball and swimming, and then on Sunday, we headed into Gueugnon for a walk around the Parc de Sculptures which was very pretty and well kept and James was convinced he was either going to end up as Alice in Wonderland or go through the door into Narnia when he was sitting on the high chair! Then we got some nice pictures of the church in the town, before heading back to relax around the pool again. Amazing what a difference some hot sunshine makes. The forecast for the next few days is very good, with Tuesday forecasting mid 30 temperatures. Yipee!
