Tornado & Turmoil!

Tonight was very scary indeed, we had a huge storm from nowhere and a tornado whipped up all our plants and even lifted our pergola out of the ground and tossed it into a tree! There were hail stones the size of small rocks battering against the windows, we had no time to close the shutters at all, followed by the tornado and high winds, thunder, lightning, heavy rain, the works! Jim managed to get the pool covered but there was nothing that could have kept the amount of hail and water out, so he is having to sweep the water out. This may delay the filling of the pool for the week-end if the paint hasn't cured enough:-(
When we eventually managed to get outside, the pipe on the back wall had come out of its brackets because of the pressure of the hail and rain going through (easily fixed thank goodness), our flowers had taken a bit of a battering and a lot of the heads had been blown off and at one point the frog pool looked as though it was bubbling with the amount of hail rattling on it. Take a look at some of the scary pictures, more like December than July. The lightning is still going on, the electricity is now back and working again and fingers crossed there will be no more damage. After a lovely hot day too, who would have believed it!
