Our new boat, Ginger Grouse II, is now happily berthed in Chalon Sur Saone, Burgundy, France. Jim accompanied her on the long drive from Glasgow to Dover and then over on the ferry to Calais, and from there to Chalon Sur Saone.
Chalon Sur Saone was one of our most favourite stops on our original trip through the French Canals, and when they said they had an annual berth for us, we snapped it up.
The beauty of having the boat here is we can fly from Glasgow to Paris and then get the fast train (2 hours 30 mins) from Paris direct to Chalon Sur Saone, and we are there.
Our plan is to spend some of our holidays here when we can, pottering around on the beautiful canals and going to places we haven't been to due to height restrictions on the old boat. Here's to more wine tasting adventures, great food and lovely scenery. Ooh La La!
Here is a picture of Ginger Grouse II taken in Inverkip Marina a year ago (you can tell from the dark clouds it is Scotland!)
