Cycling Trip to Boccadasse - Friday 17th April, 2009

Well, the good weather has lasted until yesterday which was the complete opposite with torrential rain all day as well as thunder and lightning. Today, thankfully was back to the hot sun, with only some light showers, so we decided to get on our bikes and cycle to the charming little fishing village of Boccadasse, along the Corso Italia coastal path.
The scenery along the way was stunning, and 45 minutes later, we arrived at Boccadasse. The little guide we have of Genoa recommended this place as a must see, and it was so right. It has gorgeous houses, all brightly painted (very similar to Portofino), surrounding the cove.
We enjoyed a lovely lunch in Antica Osteria Dindi, overlooking the sea. Jim had Spaghetti with Pesto and I had Spaghetti with Clams, Squid, Mussels & Prawns. Both were really delicious. We decided not to have a dessert, as we had clocked the Gelateria next door beforehand, so had some coffee to finish the lunch, before heading for some ice cream which was yummy.
After a walk around, to work off the lunch and the ice cream, we cycled back to Porto Antico, almost getting caught in a huge downpour of rain on the way - thank goodness for the bus shelter!
