Marvellous Monaco - Thursday 26th February, 2009

We went by Bus today to Monaco, a bargain at 2€ each return, especially when you get a window seat with the most amazing coastline views.
We first made our way through the pretty Japanese Garden and then to Port Hercule to see the boats and boy, did they live up to our expectations - they were absolutely incredible.
After a light lunch of Pepperoni Bruschetta and a couple of glasses of wine, we walked to the Fontveille area to see the Port there. It is much smaller than Port Hercule, but every bit as spectacular. Whilst there, we visited the Vintage Car Collection belonging to Prince Rainier III and then Jim went to the Naval Museum whilst I pottered around the shops.
We were both knackered by then and found a cafe for some refreshing ice cream and a seat and decided that even at 40€ per night in the Port, we would take GG there for one night only on Sunday, and paint the town red at the famous Monte Carlo Casino!
Monaco really is quite a spectacular place with views to absolutely die for and if we play our cards right at the Casino, we may even win our berthing fee back!
