Bonjour St. Jean de Losne, River Saone, encore! - Monday 29th September, 2008

We set off this morning at 10am, heading SE, downstream through 20 locks to St. Jean de Losne.

The weather was a bit nippy to start, with clear blue skies and bright sunshine, but once 11am came, the hot sunshine arrived as usual.

We managed 5 locks before lunch at 12 noon, enjoying the great weather on the flybridge with our sandwiches and yoghurts and we even managed a 15 minute siesta in the sunshine after lunch too!

We continued at 1pm, only 15 locks to go, and it was touch and go whether we would make it in time to get through the last lock by 7pm.

On route, we had jets circling us on a training exercise and managed to capture one of them on camera. It was amazing to watch.

By the skin of our teeth, we made it into the last lock at 6.50pm, and locked through, finally tying up in the marina at 7.10pm, with both of us totally knackered.

We will see how we feel tomorrow and decide then whether to move on, or stay another day here to recover fully.
