Au Revoir Santenay, Bonjour Chagny, Canal Du Centre - Wednesday 27th August 2008

Hot, Hot, Hot again, the weather has picked up over the last few days here and it makes such a difference waking up to blue skies. We cycled to Chagny, 10km round trip, to check out the town and also to make sure the Halte Nautique listed in the book existed and had facilities!
The village is a bit bigger than Santenay and very pretty too plus it also has a Laverie. The Halte Nautique was there too, as published, with electricity and water, so we decided to sail GG the very short distance of 2.63nm heading East.
We left at 1pm, arriving at 1.30pm and tied up alongside. It is 8 euros per night here including water and electricity.
We decided to take advantage of the Laverie, so Jim cycled into the village with our bag of washing whilst I made Spaghetti Bolognaise for tonight’s dinner.
Chagny is home to a 3 Rosette Michelin Restaurant - Lameloise. Fortunately it is closed Wednesday and Thursday so we won’t be able to dine there........ Their set menu is 100€ per head!
We will likely stay here until Friday and then move on towards Chalon Sur Saone.
Chagny is 46’54’.374N 004’44’.830E.
