We have had lovely weather and a nice few days here in Arklow, Co. Wicklow. The Marina is on the River Avoca and there is an abundance of wildlife every day swimming up and down the river including families of Mallards and Swans.
We have been cycling and walking most days and sampling the local Guinness yet again. There are good restaurants nearby and we ate out at Déjà Vu in the village last night, our last evening here ( I think Jim had one of the Mallards for dinner as there seemed to be one missing from the family when we left the restaurant!).

We met a nice couple, Pete and Sylvia, who were heading for the west coast of Scotland on their Yacht, Spirit of Lundy, which was a Halberg Rassy 40'. They had travelled through the Canal Du Midi last year and recommended the Med very much. They very kindly showed us their charts of Padstow and gave us a handbook on Milford Haven.
We left at 10.30am heading South East to Milford Haven, with the weather a bit dull and visibility poor, and a light N/NE Force 2-3. Perfect sailing conditions for us!
We passed Skokholm Island on the way (pictured) and the crossing took us 5 hours, travelling at a steady 20 knots for most of the journey and the latter part at 10 knots when we were heading up the estuary. We berthed at Neyland Yacht Haven , and will be here for 3 nights - time to catch up on the washing :-(
We can now fly our Welsh flag :-) - pictured.
Milford Haven is 51’40’.13N 05’08’.16W.
We plan on departing Milford Haven and heading off on Monday, travelling South West to Padstow.
