Au Revoir Ardglass, Hello Howth - Wednesday 7th May 2008

We had a lovely overnight stay at Ardglass and reluctantly decided to move on as the weather was perfect for our next port of call, Howth, Dublin. Ideal little place for scooting about on our bikes (pictured)
We left at 11.45am heading due south, with the wind from E/SE, Force 4. We had a pleasant sail, albeit still hazy sunshine, passing Lambey Island (pictured) on route, with not much for company apart from the odd stray gannet.
We arrived at Howth at 4pm and checked in with the Marina office. Glad we had phoned them this morning to book a berth, as the Marina here is extremely busy. And at 31 Euros a night, it better be worth it! Have to say, it is a stunning setting (pictured).
Howth is a beautiful little village with stunning seafood restaurants around the harbour and an excellent choice of shops, traditional pubs with live Irish music and dancing and a library with free wi-fi, - hooray! It is proving quite difficult to get wi-fi so far, hence the blog not being updated as much as we would like.
We will be here for a few days so that we can enjoy the delights of Howth and Dublin with perhaps the odd wee pint of Guinness (again!), before moving to Arklow.
Howth is 53'23'.39N 006'003'.99W
Funny picture of the yacht going aground was taken whilst it was heading out of the Howth Marina in the dredged channel! - that's why we chose a motor cruiser!
