It was coffee, champagne and croissants at 10.30am, with Gordon Halliday, Kath & Billy Stewart and Allan Ramsay, with Alex Kean popping along to say au revoir, before departing from Largs Marina at 12 noon, heading for Bangor.
The weather was sunny (thanks the lord!) and the sea state slight with the wind from the N/NE, so perfect sailing weather for us to get to Bangor.
It was a very pleasant trip, passing Paddy’s Milestone, Ailsa Craig, at 2pm, travelling at a steady 18-19 knots, and we arrived in Bangor and were all secure and tied up at 4.30pm. And we even managed to get a bit of a tan on the fly bridge!
Time to sample the Guinness!
Likely we will be here for a few days, as the weather over the next couple of days is not in our favour for our next port of call, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin.
