Sizzle while you work!

Work on the house is still ongoing and today Bert & Alex finished off the painting of the wall adjacent to the house. They had an early start of 7am so that they could finish earlier because of the hot weather. All that is left now is the plastering of the ceiling in my office which Bert is doing tomorrow, and the painting of the outside of the windows and replacement of one window in the Cellar. So, we are nearly there and it is looking good, so far.
Our garden is looking amazing too, with lots of beautiful new flowers coming into bloom and we also have courgettes ready, as well as green beans coming along nicely which will be ready in the next 2 weeks and the tomatoes are the biggest I have ever seen, and they are starting to change colour too, so not long for them either.
During the week I made the most delicious soup with the courgettes, potatoes and onions all from the garden. Recipe - see below, it truly is simple to make and very good.
Spiced Courgette Soup
1 oz butter; 1 medium onion chopped, 1 clove garlic crushed, 1 tsp ground cumin, 1 tsp ground coriander, 12 oz sliced courgettes, 5 oz sliced potatoes, 1/2pt veg stock, 1/2pt milk, salt and pepper to taste.
1. Melt butter in pan, add onions and garlic and cook gently for 5 mins.
2. Add cumin and coriander, and stir for a few minutes over medium heat.
3. Add courgettes, potatoes, stock, milk. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 15 mins or until soft. Season as required.
4. Leave to cool, then liquidise.
5. Enjoy piping hot with some crusty french bread.

Superb!
