Trip to Toulouse - Thursday 27/12 - Sunday 30/12/12 - Days 1&2
Pere Noel gave us a fabulous Xmas Pressie of a trip to Toulouse and we headed off on Thursday afternoon to the TGV Station at Le Creusot for the train journey to Lyon. After the train, then tram to the airport, we flew the short 50 minute journey to Toulouse and were at our hotel for 7.30pm. - Grand Hotel de l'Opera, a truly traditional hotel with sumptuous furnishings.
After checking in, we headed out to one of the many bars on Place Capitole and enjoyed some drinks outside under heated canopies.
Our hotel was right on the Place Capitole, so very handy for the buzz and excitement of Toulouse.
After a good night's sleep and a very yummy breakfast priced at 19 euros per head!! we headed off to Cite de l'Espace, and spent a full day there exploring the life sized replica Mir Space Station, learning about the planets and stars in their Planetarium, going on an Imax 3d adventure and learning about the Hubble Telescope, and walking around floors and floors of exhibitions. It was fantastic value for money and Jim especially enjoyed the day out, he was like a dog with 2 tails. We then headed to Le Maharajah indian curry shop in the evening for our dinner. This restaurant was highly recommended on Trip Advisor and we are so glad we found it, as it was the best curry we had ever had in France (apart from our home made ones of course!)
