Les Aventures de Tintin - Wednesday 26/10/11

I left Jim & Alex this afternoon, working in the bathroom and headed for Digoin to the Majestic Cinema for the much awaited Tintin film - The Secret of the Unicorn - in 3D. I couldn't find anywhere showing a Version Originale (English with french subtitles), and because I was too excited to wait until I come home on the 6th November, the Version Francais film would need to do! Perhaps it will help my french.....
Tintin has always been a childhood hero of mine and I have fond memories of reading the books when I was a little girl, and my office here in France, has framed pictures of posters of some of the front covers of the books, including my favourite, the Crab with the Golden Claws.
Anyway, back to the film......It was all that I expected, and more! The 3d effects and imagery were amazing and even although it was all in french, it was easy to pick up the story of the lost treasure of the Unicorn. Milou (Snowy) was the best, so funny with a great little attitude. Tintin and Captain Haddock were also fab. A must see for Tintin fans, grown up or not.
When I was last in Glasgow, I bought a bit of an investment of a 4ft wooden Tintin and Snowy from one of their adventures, and they will take pride of place in my office in France. They have started their own new adventure, having been collected from the seller in Barnsley by one of our printers and they are now hiding in a cupboard under the reception stairs until the next leg of their journey next week when they will be speeding up to Glasgow in the boot of the reps car. Once they are safe and sound in Glasgow, Jim and I will bring them home to France next March in the van......A huge adventure for Tintin and Snowy indeed!
