Love is.......a bowl of Cherries

Our cherry trees in the garden are overflowing with ripe fruit now and we have an abundance of beautiful juicy cherries to enjoy. The neighbours also have the same 'problem' and keep coming with bags of them as gifts for us. Mai's daughter dropped off a huge bowl last week-end and a new neighbour who lives driving distance from us on the old road, Marie Claude, dropped off a huge bag today. Marie Claude speaks very good english as her daughter lives in Dover, so we at least were able to have a 'sensible' conversation!
The flavour of the cherries is just amazing. James, who doesn't like cherries, is addicted - nothing like the cherries at home, he keeps saying.
So, tomorrow, I am going to make Cherry Clafoutis for afters, which is a classic french dessert and the recipe is from Raymond Blanc, so it should be good. The cherries macerate for 2 hours in sugar, which brings out even more of their flavour. Yum Yum, can't wait!
