Happy Easter. Phew it is very hot here, and apparently for April, this is not the normal.
We have had a busy week, working from home and around the home and going to the Market to buy some lovely flowers to plant in tubs around the grounds. We also got some new 'friends' too, Jemima duck and a couple of brightly coloured 'moths' to cheer up the garage door, who we have nicknamed Pierre et Claudette. We also have some other little friends who have appeared in the form of newts all over the place, but they play hard to get and scurry every time you get near for a photo!
Louis got rid of some of our dead hedge and erected a view breaker area for us and we bought a lovely gazebo to shelter us from the sun which Jim put up. All we need to do now is wire brush the concrete table, give it some tlc with paint and our little sitting area will be complete.
Our vegetables are coming along nicely t00, we have lots of fresh salad leaves ready for eating and I used our asparagus during the week which was really tasty. The radishes we picked earlier in the week we used with some salad and the leeks Louis gave us from his garden made a huge pot of leek and potato soup! So, we will definitely not go hungry.
We have also had a couple of tradesmen around giving us quotes for painting/treating the facade of the house and also to replace the guttering, so this work should be starting mid-July and will make a huge difference to the appearance of the house.
This week-end we are off to the boat in Chalon, to relax and un-wind. We will take in a few restaurants and basically chill out.
Hope you all have a lovely Easter.
