We enjoyed our very short stay here in Falmouth, the town is lovely (pictured) and Jim visited the Maritime Museum whilst I did some retail therapy. We had a quick visit to the Bosun’s Locker for some Charts, and then we cycled back the short 10 minute ride to the Marina, visiting a couple of pubs on the way.
The weather has been incredibly kind to us and we are taking full advantage of this, so we headed further East, setting off for Salcombe at 11.30am this morning.
Bright sunshine, an almost cloudless sky, and Force 1 / 2 from the SE, absolutely perfect. We helmed a lot of the trip from the fly bridge, enjoying the calm conditions.
We passed Eddystone Lighthouse which just seemed to appear from the middle of knowhere, a daunting sight to say the least!
We arrived at Salcombe at 2.45pm, travelling at a steady and very comfortable 20 knots, reduced to 8 knots going through the Salcombe Estuary. Salcombe is very beautiful as you will see from the pictures, with gorgeous beaches, and an abundance of yachts and motor cruisers everywhere.

We are moored on a floating island visitors pontoon and you can either dinghy the half a mile to the town or call the water taxi at £2 per head, and they come and collect you. Guess which option we will be taking!
We only plan to stay one night here and then head to Guernsey tomorrow at 11.30am.
